Short answer
Payment gateway integration connects your website or app to a provider such as Stripe, Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, Checkout.com or Network International. Infikey handles checkout, webhooks, subscriptions, refunds, split payouts and reconciliation without storing card data. A standard integration costs USD 3,000–12,000.

Which payment gateway should you use?
The right gateway depends on where your customers are, what they pay with and how you settle money.
| Market | Popular gateways | Payment methods customers expect |
|---|---|---|
| India | Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, Stripe India, CCAvenue, Juspay (orchestration) | UPI, cards, net banking, wallets, EMI, UPI Autopay for subscriptions |
| UAE and GCC | Network International (N-Genius), Checkout.com, Stripe, Telr, PayTabs, Tabby and Tamara (BNPL) | Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, BNPL |
| UK and Europe | Stripe, Adyen, Checkout.com, GoCardless (direct debit), TrueLayer (Open Banking) | Cards, Apple Pay, Direct Debit, Pay by Bank |
| US | Stripe, Braintree, Adyen, Square, Authorize.net | Cards, Apple Pay, ACH, BNPL |
Selling across markets? A payment orchestration layer can route each customer to the best gateway and fail over if one is down.
What we integrate
- Checkout: hosted or embedded checkout, saved cards via tokens, 3-D Secure, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Subscriptions and recurring billing: plans, trials, proration, dunning, card updater, UPI Autopay and eNACH mandates in India.
- Marketplaces: split payments and seller payouts through Stripe Connect, Razorpay Route or Cashfree Easy Split, with seller onboarding (KYC).
- Refunds and disputes: full and partial refunds, chargeback evidence workflows.
- Webhooks: signed, idempotent webhook handling so an order is never marked paid twice or missed.
- Reconciliation: matching settlements, fees and refunds against orders, with exports for your accounting system (Tally, Zoho Books, Xero, QuickBooks).
- Invoices and tax: GST invoices in India, VAT invoices in the UAE and UK, sales-tax data for US.
Payment integration cost
| Scope | Budget (USD) | Budget (INR) |
|---|---|---|
| Single gateway checkout on an existing site or app | 3,000–8,000 | 2.5–6.5 lakh |
| Subscriptions, saved cards, refunds and reconciliation | 8,000–20,000 | 6.5–16 lakh |
| Marketplace split payouts or multi-gateway orchestration | 15,000–35,000 | 12–28 lakh |

Security and PCI DSS
We integrate so that card numbers go straight from the customer’s browser or phone to the gateway. Your servers only ever see tokens. This keeps most merchants in the lightest PCI DSS self-assessment (SAQ A or SAQ A-EP) under PCI DSS v4.0.1.
Other safeguards we put in place:
- Webhook signature checks and replay protection.
- Server-side amount and currency validation, so prices cannot be changed in the browser.
- Secrets in a vault or cloud secret manager, rotated regularly.
- Monitoring of payment failure rates with alerts when they spike.
- Indian card-on-file tokenisation rules respected: merchants do not store card numbers.
How we work
- Review: your current checkout, platform (Laravel, Node.js, WooCommerce, Shopify, custom) and the payment flows you need.
- Gateway setup: help with the merchant account, sandbox keys and any documents the gateway asks for.
- Build and test: every success, failure, refund and webhook path, using the gateway’s test cards and simulators.
- Go live: switch to live keys, run small real transactions and monitor the first days closely.

Project blueprint
Multi-gateway checkout for a subscription business
Based on the requirements we hear most often from buyers like this.
A subscription business selling in India, the UAE and the UK uses one gateway everywhere. Failed renewals are high, international cards are often declined, and finance reconciles payouts by hand.
What we would build
- Gateway routing by country and payment method, with automatic fallback when a payment fails
- Recurring payments with UPI AutoPay, card mandates and smart retry rules
- Webhook handling with idempotency, so no payment is recorded twice
- Automated payout reconciliation and refund workflows for finance
How success is measured
- Payment success rate by country and method
- Involuntary churn from failed renewals
- Finance hours spent on reconciliation
- Chargeback and refund handling time
